Rocky Mountain Rescue Group is an all-volunteer professional rescue organization trained and equipped for search and rescue on mountainous terrain and in all weather conditions. Founded in 1947, we are one of the oldest and most experienced mountain rescue teams in the country. We are Boulder County's primary mountain rescue agency, but upon request also assist other mountain rescue teams outside the county. RMRG is a non-profit IRS 501(c)3 organization and we do not charge for our services.

These photos are from a recent training on the Redgarden Wall in @eldoradocanyonstatepark . We use 600' ropes to rescue injured climbers from the tall Eldo walls.

Yesterday we assisted a hiker who injured his leg while hiking off-trail in Eldorado Canyon State Park. The hiker, who was in a loose gully north of Shirttail peak, yelled to get the attention of nearby climbers who were able to call 911.

This photo is from a recent mission on Mt. Sanitas. We assisted a hiker who experienced a seizure near the top of trail. Rescuers carried him down to the the road, where he was transported to the hospital by ambulance. Thank you to the helpful bystanders that called 911.

Yesterday we assisted a hiker with a knee injury on the 1st/2nd Flatiron trail. We are happy to provide search and rescue services to our community and never charge for rescue.

Last Friday, we assisted a person who took a 25’ fall after slipping on icy rock at Lost Gulch Overlook. This was the start of a busy weekend for us including a team medical training and three missions. We encourage everyone to stay safe as they go outside and enjoy the upcoming warm spring days.

Over the weekend we helped a person who wandered off trail and found himself stuck on the second flatiron. Rescuers accessed the patient in technical terrain, put a harness on them, and then lowered them safely to the ground to meet with other rescuers. The flatirons can be deceptively difficult. We recommended researching routes and making sure you have adequate gear and experience before attempting any climbs. #searchandreacue #flatirons #bouldercolorado #climbing #rescue
